Chalet la Ruche
Chalet la Ruche is one of two chalets we operate in the pretty wooded
area of la Plagne 1800 and are about 300m apart. Both are traditional Alpine
chalets and run by experienced and mature hosts. See
Chalet le Nichoir (sleeping 8)
Chalet la Ruche has a fantastic sociable layout over three floors and
sleeps 16 guests. There are 6 twin rooms (five with en suite) and 2
doubles (one en suite). The two rooms without en suite share a
shower-room.
The chalet is a short walk away from the village centre. The nearest ski
lift is 400m away (we’ll take you up there in the mornings by minibus).
The ski bus stop is only 50m away and free buses travel regularly between
the villages.
The chalet
is newly decorated for 07/08 but retains its traditional chalet features
including an open-plan dining and lounge area with log fire. A large
balcony provides stunning views across the valley.
Your hosts will take you to pick up skis, boots, board etc if you need to
hire equipment. They will also sort out ski-passes and lesson vouchers
for you and deliver you to the slopes in the mornings. If you have
children in nursery they’ll drop them off too.
For the first three days of your holiday we offer ski-hosting – a
free-of-charge way to get to know the slopes, other guests and some of
the best on-piste restaurants. You need to be able to ski red runs
competently to take part in ski hosting.
The Food
We provide delicious, nutritious food and cooked by mature, experienced
staff. A hearty breakfast of cereals, fresh bread, tea, coffee and a hot
option (e.g. scrambled egg or bacon roll) will set you up for the day.
On your return from the slopes you will be greeted by afternoon tea
including a freshly baked cake. Dinner is served at 8pm (6pm for kids).
Once a week your chalet hosts will have a day off but they will leave
breakfast and cake out for you and can book you a table at a lovely
restaurant of your choice. |
