Chalet Etoile
Chalet Etoile de la Savoie is a large traditional style Alpine
chalet located 1 km from the centre of Saint Gervais-Mont-Blanc, opposite
the West side of Mont Blanc. Its location provides spectacular views of
the ridges and glaciers of the Mont Blanc massif.
Originally a holiday school, we have completely renovated the chalet to
provide a high standard of accommodation and facilities. Our philosophy
is to provide a friendly, relaxed and welcoming environment. We pass on
ski-pass and equipment hire discounts (up to 20%) to our guests.
Within the chalet is an oak-panelled residents lounge where we provide
music; a separate lounge with home cinema system, English and French
satellite TV and a wide selection of videos/DVDs; in-house Irish Bar and
a relaxing conservatory lounge.
We provide child-friendly facilities, with a large range of toys, books,
games and children's dvd/videos/music and in-house babysitting. An early
children's dinner is an option for families staying with us - just one of
many of our children's facilities.
The Beds
There are 11 guest bedrooms sleeping up to 36 people (one
apartment-sized), most of which have en-suite shower and toilet, three
have adjoining private shower and toilet. All rooms have panoramic views
of the surrounding massif, Mont Blanc and its glaciers and peaks.
We are happy to accommodate children in adjoining bedrooms, subject to
availability.
Most of our bedrooms can be equipped as double, single or twin.
We want to make your stay with us a pleasurable, memorable one and we are
happy to accommodate your individual holiday needs.
The Food etc
There is a restaurant kitchen and dining room facilities for up to 36
guests, where we provide a mixture of regional Savoyarde, vegetarian and
international cuisine (including French, Italian, Indian, Mexican,
Thai/South-East Asian, Vietnamese and traditional British options). We
have a stocked wine cellar and provide a selection of wine, beer,
champagne and cocktails. Our guests have described dining with us is "a
gastronomical world tour" - a reputation we are proud to maintain.
Our terraces, Conservatory lounge and new, in-house Irish Bar (Star of
County Down) provide additional dining areas.
Chalet Etoile de la Savoie has always been a "no-smoking Chalet" and our
terraces have provided spectacular views and a place to smoke! Now
adjoining our in-house Irish Bar, is a smokers lounge - with the same
amazing views and a smoke extraction system.
