Chalet de Launey
- a comfortable chalet in Meribel - 17 beds |
 |
|
Chalet de Launey is a beautiful chalet situated in a private
cul-de-sac close to the resort centre of Méribel. The seven bedrooms,
sleeping 14 comfortably - six
twins and one double, are superbly furnished featuring fitted pile
carpets, full sized beds and over sized feather quilts, each has a
balcony with spectacular views across the Meribel Valley.
On many occasion we have accommodated an additional person within a
cabin room on the top floor and the double captains room can take a
child’s bed or two for the larger groups that need places for up to 17
including children.
All the bedrooms have en-suite baths and the chalet has an outside
terrace Jacuzzi hot tub and a sauna on the lower level floor of the
chalet. The traditional Meribel build design in Savoyard stone includes
vaulted ceilings that decorate the living and dinning rooms. This
spacious open plan area enjoys an open log fire set in a magnificent
stone chimney, Freeview Sky TV/video, CD player and phone for free local
outgoing calls and international incoming calls.
The South West facing balcony from the lounge provides a clear view of
the Meribel Valley. A further games room with books, video library with
TV and Video, is an ideal place to relax or act as an additional lounge
for children.
Although situated close to the resort centre of Meribel the chalet has
the exclusive benefit of a minibus to make the short trip to and from the
slopes each day. For those seeking the nightlife after dinner Meribel
resort centre and bars is just a 10-15 minute walk.
The Meribel main lift area at Chaudanne is a 3-4 minute mini bus ride
from the chalet each morning and tea time.
The Food
The cuisine is described by our guests as being of good quality and
more than enough quantity!
Start the day with a selection of porridge, cereals, yoghurts and
locally fresh baked bread and preserves. You can also enjoy a choice of
cooked eggs with a daily accompaniment of one of the following: bacon,
sausage, tomatoes, mushrooms or beans.
On your return from a days skiing, you will find afternoon tea for you to
help yourself, consisting of a freshly baked cake or biscuits together
with tea, coffee and hot chocolate.
Your dinner comprises three-courses complimented with selected French
wines followed by coffee and chocolates. The farewell evening meal on
Friday evening is
accompanied by a complimentary bottle of port.
Wednesday is our host's day off - continental breakfast will be delivered
with fresh bread, croissants and pain au chocolate. Afternoon tea will be available as usual
and your evening meal will be at
a local restaurant which we will be delighted to recommend.
Tea, coffee and fresh fruit are always available for you to help yourself.
Children’s Meals - younger children normally eat earlier - we suggest 18.00–18.30.
