Lying just under the Italian border in the
Alpes de Provence, Isola 2000 is one of the most southerly ski resorts in
France and just 90 minutes from Nice airport. It has very good skiing for
all abilities, especially beginners, and plenty of ski in/out
accommodation. On a clear day from the top of the mountain it is possible
to see the Mediterranean.
The resort lies at 2000 metres and pisted runs reach the height of 2610
metres. Isola has an excellent snow record with village level snow guaranteed all
season. Boarding is popular in Isola, there are plenty of
‘board-friendly’ lifts and a dedicated snowboard park. For those wanting some off-piste
adventure, there are plenty of opportunities.
There are numerous shops, bars, clubs, restaurants and supermarkets
adjacent to the slopes. The purpose built complex allows you to maximize
your time on the slopes while plenty of terraced cafes and restaurants
allow you to take a break and bask in the Mediterranean sun.
For après ski there are lots of options: sleigh rides, snowmobiling, tobogganing,
ice skating and ice driving. There is also an indoor pool, whirlpool,
sauna etc located in the old village, just twenty minutes drive from
resort.
